Day 49 Home

Today we travelled 551 km home. We left at 7 and got home at 3 this afternoon.it was a long day.

Day 48. Mitchell Neil Turner Weir

Today we travelled 340 km to Mitchell and stayed in a free camp near the weir. It is very dry here.
Kate Field came to visit us the afternoon. It was lovely.

Day 47. Douglas Ponds near Blackall.

We left Winton and travelled on 393 km to just north of Blackall. Weather was cool today and very overcast. A change from previous days.

Day 46 Winton

Today we travelled 348 km to Winton. We went into the caravan park. Once we unhitched we made a trip out to the Age of Dinosaurs park. It was very well done. It was situated on a small mesa and the view was spectacular. There were a number of dinosaur bones from large sauropods being excavated in the lab. The collection room held the bones already found and laid out as dinosaurs.
That night we had dinner in the park and then we listened to the Poet, Gregory North. He was good although there were only about a dozen people there. Apparently sat is the last day of the season.

Day 45 Cloncurry

We travelled 310 km to Cloncurry today. We  stopped in Mt Isa for some groceries and then went around to our old house at 10 Delta Av. It was looking pretty good. Strange that we were in Mt Isa where Danny was born 33 years ago to the day and it was  just as cold today as it was then.

Day 44 Camooweal

We left early today and drove 310 km to Camooweal. We hoped to get in before the winds started but no such luck. We are in the caravan park behind the pub. We crossed the border  between Qld and NT.

Day 43 Frewarrina free camp

We left early this morning and drove 467 km to the Three ways and then another 130 km to the free camp called Frewarrina. It was very windy and dusty. Sadly we had a blown tyre on the caravan and had to change it before we left so this added an e tra hour to our trip. When we got to the camp there were so many flies we needed some netting to keep them away.
